1. Identity and Scope<\/strong><\/h2>

ArtCheck is an independent documentary provenance screening service operating under a structured and transparent operational framework.<\/p>

All services are provided by:\u2028ArtCheck di Luca Sasdelli<\/strong>\u2028Registered in Spain \u2013 NIF: Y9200895N<\/p>

ArtCheck performs documentary screening of works of art and cultural property for informational and risk-assessment purposes.\u2028The service is limited to documentary verification based on information available at the date of analysis.<\/p>

ArtCheck does not operate as a public registry nor as a proprietary stolen-art database.<\/p>

2. Nature of the Screening<\/strong><\/h2>

The screening process may include:<\/p>

  • consultation of relevant public and institutional databases<\/li>
  • review of accessible archival and documentary sources<\/li>
  • verification of reported thefts, losses, alerts, or claims<\/li>
  • consistency review of identifying data provided by the client<\/li><\/ul>

    ArtCheck independently determines which sources are appropriate and proportionate to the requested level of service.<\/p>

    3. Structured Certification<\/strong><\/h2>

    Upon completion of the screening, ArtCheck issues a numbered Provenance Screening Certificate<\/strong>.<\/p>

    The Certificate:<\/p>

    • identifies the artwork based on submitted information<\/li>
    • states the date of verification<\/li>
    • reflects documentary findings available at that date<\/li>
    • references this Operational Policy<\/li><\/ul>

      The Certificate is valid exclusively as of the date of issuance.<\/p>

      ArtCheck certificates are documentary attestations of screening activity and do not constitute legal title confirmation or authenticity certification.<\/p>

      4. Methodological Framework<\/strong><\/h2>

      ArtCheck operates under an internal methodological structure designed to ensure consistency, traceability, and documentary integrity.<\/p>

      The screening reflects the documentary landscape accessible at the time of verification.\u2028ArtCheck does not guarantee the completeness of external databases or the existence of undisclosed or non-public claims.<\/p>

      5. Limitations<\/strong><\/h2>

      The service:<\/p>

      • does not certify authenticity<\/li>
      • does not confirm legal ownership<\/li>
      • does not replace legal due diligence<\/li>
      • does not constitute export authorization<\/li>
      • does not substitute regulatory or customs compliance procedures<\/li><\/ul>

        Absence of records does not constitute proof of lawful provenance.<\/p>

        6. Extended Services<\/strong><\/h2>

        Where higher-level analysis is required, including legal risk assessment, provenance reconstruction, or legal review, such services are provided only under separate written engagement.<\/p>

        7. Confidentiality<\/strong><\/h2>

        All information and documentation provided by the client are treated as confidential and used solely for the requested screening.<\/p>

        Disclosure may occur only where required by applicable law or competent authority.<\/p>

        8. Fees<\/strong><\/h2>

        All services are subject to advance payment.<\/p>

        Additional or extended services require separate agreement and fee structure.<\/p>

        9. Limitation of Liability<\/strong><\/h2>

        ArtCheck performs its services in good faith and with professional diligence.<\/p>

        To the fullest extent permitted under applicable law, ArtCheck shall not be liable for:<\/p>

        • indirect or consequential losses<\/li>
        • economic or reputational damages<\/li>
        • decisions taken by clients or third parties based on the Certificate<\/li><\/ul>

          The Certificate reflects documentary findings at the time of issuance only.<\/p>

          10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction<\/strong><\/h2>

          All services are governed by the laws of Spain<\/strong>.<\/p>

          Any dispute arising in connection with ArtCheck services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Spain, unless otherwise agreed in writing.<\/p>

          11. Updates<\/strong><\/h2>

          ArtCheck reserves the right to update this Policy periodically.<\/p>
